Second Pair of Socks Finished!

second pair of socks

I finished my second pair of socks. They’re not too bad! They are made from Tofutsies yarn, which I liked working with but didn’t love working with. I still have a long way to go before I can whip out a nice pair of simple socks, though. My grafting technique blows (I need to read the finishing techniques book I got for christmas) and I think I’d like a blunter toe. But turning the heel and working the gusset isn’t so much of a mystery to me anymore. Thanks, Maggie!

    “Working the gusset” sounds dirty.

How much does it cost to make a pair of socks?

  5. As much as the yarn costs, as long as you have the correct needles. And whatever your time is worth to you. ;)

I’m sure the knitting part is relaxing. I was trying to get a sense of what the cost of a perfered yarn would be and how much you need?

  7. Most yarn retailers sell yarn that’s specific for socks, so you only need one skein. The particular yarn I used was probably around $15. Our own Maggie make lovely, gorgeous, one-of-a-kind sock yarn here – http://www.dyedinthewoolhandma.....hp?crn=206
