I was actually musing just this morning -- when it was still pretty much dark at 6:30am -- that the green light on the electric toothbrush charger made a really good night light. But yeah ... that's probably not a good thing, if the toothbrush is plugged in all day. :)

On a brighter (pun intended) note, I found some really cool LED lights on strings that run on solar energy at Target. A little pricey, but they don't use any grid electricity and the bulbs last virtually forever. Now I can decorate the RV for Christmas!!

One of Liz's charging cradles has a bright blue LED light that illuminates our entire RV at night if it's left plugged in. It's so bright it keeps me awake till I get up and go unplug it. I hate that thing.

I need to get on this one. There are stupid little glowing lights all over my house. And all that money goes to such nice people...

The issue is particularly pressing in Ohio, the nation's No. 1 emitter of toxic air emissions — mostly from electricity production at the state's coal-fired power plants.

We're #1! We're #1! Oh.

I moved last week and became conscious of this vampire phenomenon as I plugged things in again at the new place. The power strip idea is a good one. Just click it off at night and on in the morning. However, as the article mentions, no one will want to do that for appliances that will require clock resets, etc.
