Yawn
Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 09:18amI don’t have much to talk about this morning. Here’s one thing, though. Beth and I went out to dinner last night (mmmm, Cuban) and afterwards dropped by a local bar to grab an after-dinner beer. As we chatted, we noticed American Idol on the television sets. I don’t really follow AI, so I have no idea about anything. But I just have to comment…Jordan Castro confuses me. We must be getting old, because our initial reaction was, “Is that a boy or a girl?” Ugh, the hair. Every time I see dreadlocks I wonder what they must smell like.

Aww Jason Casto is so sweet. He is really pretty, though I agree about the dreadlocks. I enjoy the fact that he always seems stoned and mellow. I imagine he had a black light in his college dorm room. I always enjoy his performances.

That’s what I was wondering…is he the heartthrob this year?
And he’s probably this guy, right?

I don’t watch the show either, but, boy or girl, so pretty! I’m reminded of another favorite androgynous Jordan. Catalano!

Hah, a more sensitive version of that guy. He’s the dude that gets stoned and strums his guitar singing pretty songs.
There are a few heartthrobs this year, he is like fourth amongst them. There is David Cook - the rocker. Michael Johns, the hottie Aussie (he sang Dream on last night), and then David Archeletta (sp?) the 12 year old pre-teen fascination.
I swear, I’m not even that into AI, I watch on Tuesday nights if I’m home! Which, let’s face it, I usually am.

Which one of those bastards sang Robbie’s “Angels” last night? I swear I heard it. I thought Robbie didn’t let American Idol use his songs.
Sandyjoys on Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 10:12 am
That would have been the teenybopper David. And Simon Cowell said it was one of his favorite songs.

I don’t think you need permission to perform a song live.
freakgirl on Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 10:39 am
Probably not…but I swear I remember reading years ago that Robbie didn’t want the show using his songs. I can’t find anything to back that up, though.
Anyway, he’ll probably make a good bit of money off this, as many people heard “Angels” for the first time last night. Also, I heard he may be making an appearance on tonight’s “Idol Gives Back,” and I guess that means I’m going to have to watch.

Someone used Angels last year, too. I remember because my husband said to me last year AND last night that he had never heard that song.
I am madly in love with Jason Castro, he is my favorite AI contestant ever. I don’t usually love the dreadlocks but for some reason they are just fine with me now.
