I've tried to put my finger on it, and why a show like "Terminator" seems so much better. One of the things, I guess, was that Jamie seemed so pissed off that she was made bionic. I'm thinking that would be superior to basically being a one-eyed, one-eared, one-armed stump. I hated the sister subplot... It just seemed to be missing something.
