I noticed her blog is gone now. I wonder why - Blogger police? Lawsuit from unfairly vilified dude?

And don’t misunderstand what I mean by vilified. I read her blog when it was up, and if we can take her word for it, he didn’t want to have protected sex. So he’s stupid. Kind of a jerk. I’m just saying, she’s stupid too for giving in, and they are the same kind of jerk. She went way overboard with what she did, plus she’s treating herpes like it’s leprosy or something.

I’m a lesbian, and we’re apparently supposed to hate men or whatever, but I’ve personally never understood the straight girl “the dude is responsible for all bad things” attitude. I swear to you, straight girls hate men much more than lesbians.

But maybe because they have to deal with them and we don’t.

You know, I spend half my life trying to make sure my kids understand that we are all responsible for our own choices and the resulting consequences. Some people are determined to be the victim at all times, never taking responsibility for their role in whatever it is they think has befallen them. Call me callous, but I have little sympathy. I’d have a lot more sympathy for this woman if she’d just said “I did something stupid (not using a condom) and so did this guy (if, in fact, she knows this to be true, whereas in this case it doesn’t look like it), and now I have herpes.” She admits she should have worn a condom, but then spends twelve years saying why it’s not really her fault. I could give a shit where, when, or with whom she chooses to have sex — it’s not the point. But if you’re going to have unprotected sex with a relative stranger, at least share responsibility for the inevitable STD.

I’m still not 100% convinced this isn’t some sort of prank.

Anyway, yeah, there is still a lot to be learned about herpes. People can unknowingly carry it for years without ever having an outbreak. She could have had it dormant, he could have had it dormant…they’ll never really know the truth. I imagine if he had been nice about the whole situation, she wouldn’t have done this. Which just makes her look like a vengeful, dumped shrew.

Also, it’s only a matter of time before someone figures out who she is and puts up flyers with her face on them.

Heather - she met him at a party and even admits that she was trying to get laid by some other guy and this dude was second choice. Charming.

Lastly, if he DID knowingly give her herpes, I hope his dick falls off.

Also, she apparently wasn’t even one of his myspace “friends” because when he changed his profile, she couldn’t send him a message. Unless he deleted her. So, was this a myspace hookup? Because if it was, just, ewww! And I’m pretty sure there’s a disclaimer somewhere on the myspace terms of service agreement that all hookups via myspace should be assumed to result in an STD without the use of prophylactics.
