What’s Your Favorite Mascara?
I recently purchased some new mascara and decided to switch up from the reliable old pink and green tube, as it was sometimes thick and clumpy. Instead I purchased some Full ‘n Soft Waterproof. It went on neatly and wasn’t too heavy and looked great. I have to use waterproof because I sometimes wear contacts and I rub my eyes a lot. At the end of the day I looked a TRANNY MESS, you guys. Waterproof, my ass.
What’s your favorite, smudge- and water-proof, everyday mascara?

I’ve used this for about 6 months. It really separates and fattens the lashes nicely, not too much tranny smear. I used the pink/green for years and needed a change. Of course, now I have a sty in my left eye so, I am completely off eye makeup at the moment.

Since my sister started selling Mary Kay, I switched to that from Clinique. The stuff is great. It truly is waterproof and mostly smudge proof, too.

I like LORAC publicity stunt: http://tinyurl.com/358kgj . It’s pricey but I’ve found it to be water/smudge proof. The coolest thing is if by chance I glance my face with the applicator brush the mascara doesn’t smear onto my skin, it just kind of sits there waiting for me to remove it. It’s almost like it knows – hey this is skin, I don’t belong here, I belong on eyelashes! That way I can just blot off the mistake without having to reapply the foundation.

Oh how annoying. The period at the end of my sentence isn’t supposed to be part of the link. Sorry!

Fixed it.
Now I want to buy lots of mascaras!

I was using the define-a-lash that Rainbow listed above, but have since switched to CoverGirl’s Lash Blast. Love it, with the big brush. I am still using my first tube of non-waterproof, but just got my replacement tube in wateproof this time, as I am hearing that it is good without flaking. Just another one to throw in the pile for ya.

“Good without flaking” – I need that, too. My old mascara was Flakey Flakerson.

I like the mascaras that coat your lashes with little tubules. There are a couple that do it, you can find one or two at Sephora. They do not smear at all, all day long — at most, a tube or two might flake and you can just brush them away with your fingertip. No clumps, easy off with a bit of water and tissue,. Good stuff.

Little tubules? What?
February 29th, 2008 - 15:57
GC – that’s how I’d describe publicity stunt – tubules! I just didn’t have a word for it. It’s hard to describe, it’s just that it’s like you’re applying plastic tubes. It’s not as weird as it sounds.

In fact, that’s how the sephora website describes it: “You will see the mascara that has bonded to eyelashes neatly slide off your lashes in tube-like forms.”

For cheap and easy (just like me) I like Max Factor brand – I am using Lash Couture at the moment. I had some bad experience with Sephora brands (Stila, Lorac) and went back to cheaper mascara and am happy. I don’t do waterproof though.
Tubules are new to me. Sounds interesting…
February 29th, 2008 - 16:43
I want, nay, NEED, tubules on my eyelashes. Let’s go shopping!
February 29th, 2008 - 20:08
Tubules! Finally nanotechnology has a practical application– longer, thicker lashes.

Hee, it’s fun to say “tubules.”
I’ll go shopping at Sephora anytime, anywhere, bay-bees!
