What I’m Reading
Now that I’m unemployed again (hopefully not for long), I am catching up on some reading. Here’s what’s currently on my nightstand and in my iPhone:

Slam, Nick Hornby – This one is actually more of a YA novel, about a teen skateboarder who gets his girlfriend preggers. But I love Nick Hornby, so I want to read them all.

Going in Circles, Pamela Ribon – I’m a fan of her writing, and even if I wasn’t, how could I turn down a book about divorce and roller derby? I’m about a quarter of the way through, and have already had to put it down twice because it’s hit too close to home. But I’m sure it will all turn out fine.

Rollergirl: Totally True Tales from the Track, Melissa Joulwan – Do I have to explain? Really enjoying this one.

Slam is really good. I wrote a paper on it, comparing novels that depict the male side of teenage pregnancy.

I didn’t realize Pammie had a new book out! I’m going to go buy it on Amazon (through your link – hope it helps!)
I have so many books stacked high that I want to read. I sorta fantasize about getting laid up in the hospital so I can have some time to read.

I was going to recommend Pamie’s book to you (not that I’ve had a chance to read *it* so much as read *about* it via Pamie’s Twitter feed), as well as these. I think you need a set. :)

brigita, that picture came with my skates. I think Ivana S. Pankin in San Diego drew it.
