Weekend Wrapup
Monday, August 04, 2008 at 09:19amSo how was your weekend? Ours was nice — busy busy busy. On Saturday we saw a wonderful little documentary called Young @ Heart. I can’t recommend it enough. See it if you can.
Last night was Elvis Costello and The Police. Great show! The weather was perfect, we had a lovely picnic beforehand, and now I can cross The Police off my list of bands I always wanted to see. This has been a great summer for concerts.

Your cardinal has decided to let it grow out a little!
The highlight of my weekend was meeting the lovely Beau for a Blogger Beauty Day of haircuts, manis, and pedis. As men do.
I also saw Brideshead Revisited, which I highly recommend. Visually stunning with just the right undercurrent of homoeroticism (read: lots).

Gorgeous picture of LL, and those delicious looking cupcakes are making me hungry!
My dad is visiting for the week, so we did a little exploring up in Sarasota on Saturday. Stopped at a flea market, an orange grove, visited Siesta Key Island for a bit and then went to the Sarasota Marina to walk around. Got some great pictures of flowers and the boats in the water.
On Sunday I finally saw Hancock - it was better than I expected, with some suprises that I was shocked weren’t spoiled before the movie came out or at least by now. Then we went to my mom’s house to a shrimp boil party and played mexican train!
I’m tired.

Fairly quiet weekend. Went swimming at Atsion Lake on Friday. worked Saturday. Swimming at local playground pool yesterday. Saw Hancock last night. Not bad, but didn’t thrill us. Resting up for trip to Denver Worldcon in a couple of days.
