Spent the last of the kid-free week going to see Avenue Q in NYC - so funny! Got the kid back on Saturday and snuggled her the rest of the day. Sunday was mellow mall day plus a movie. A good time was had by all.

I used to go to the parade back when my friend lived at Church and Wellesley, right above a bagel shop that used to be there. So we'd drink on her balcony and watch the parade and then go down and dance in the street and club hop because all the clubs and bars down there would be no cover for the weekend. So. Much. Fun!

Maggie, I think they look at an increase in hotel bookings, flights coming into toronto, parking, restaurants, etc., but that's just my guess.

While in university I used to live at Church and Carlton and the parade definitely gave the city a great vibe. I haven't been in years but I know a lot of people - gay, straight, some with their kids and dogs - went this weekend and had a blast.

I just heard on the news that Pride weekend drew in an estimated $99M tourist dollars. Wow! Everyone likes to come to Toronto to be gay, yay! My question...how do they differentiate between tourist dollars and local dollars?

I went and hung out with my spinning friends and spun yarn, then listened to hardwood being installed at my parents' house, then napped a lot yesterday. I need to slow down before I get burned out on all this excitement!

I saw Wall-E as well. I was opposed to it for a while because I insisted that he looked sad all the time. But I sucked it up and went. I only cried once so that's not too bad considering I cry over pretty much everything. I enjoyed it very much. I was very surprised that the children in the audience managed to sit still during the nearly dialogue-free first half. It wasn't even that bad when about a half hour into the movie it just stopped and they started us from pretty much the beginning again! That was fun haha. But I highly recommend it. He's such a cutie.

Micheal, it was a super gay weekend.

(I want to see Wall-E, it looks really good. This Christmas I was joking that robots are the new pirates, and shucks darnit I was right)

Saw "Wall-e" Friday night. It was awesome. I cried and cried.

Satruday had an MRI (!) and then did some car shopping and totally fell for the old bait maneuver by a sleazy car salesman who insisted over the phone that they had the exact model of car I wanted on the lot, but whaddya know, once I got there, it had mysteriously vanished! Fell for the bait, but not the switch, and walked.

Friday night - dinner and Yahtzee with the wife.

Saturday - went to a game ranch. Fed deer, sheep, goats, chipmunks, horses, mules, bunnies and squirrels by hand, which is always fun. Watched my wife throw peanuts into a black bear's mouth for half an hour - I thought she'd never stop smiling. Stared at pumas, foxes, bobcats and coyotes.

Sunday was cookout and loads of pinot grigio at a friend's house. Watched a killer storm role in. Hungover today.
