I made this for my mom. Orange butter cake with orange curd and whipped cream filling (recipe from Whimsical Bakehouse). Orange buttercream with fondant flowers. The blue ones were supposed to be purple but the color was off. Oh well. It tasted great.

We chose this wine for dinner — found it in the Riesling area, and it was a perfect fit for spicy food.

The back wall of the restaurant.

A seared tuna appetizer paired with the best salad I have ever eaten in my life. Some sort of soy-chili oil dressing that I will spend years trying to find again.

My dinner at Origins — jumbo grilled shrimp, grilled vegetables and sticky rice in banana leaves. OMG.

The geekboy had wild boar. I’m not a big fan of pork (heh), but he really liked it.

While we were all downstairs, my friend’s 4-yo daughter snuck up to the kitchen and picked off and ate every small fondant flower. She denied it, but later admitted to me that the "blue ones were the best."

The cake’s gorgeous, but I gotta say it’s that seared tuna appetizer that made me practically claw at myself with pleasure. And the tuna wasn’t even the best thing on the plate? omg

The tuna was fantastic but my god, I loved that salad as well.
