Weekend Wrapup

Monday, December 10, 2007 at 09:23am

We managed to get other things done this weekend, aside from lovingly gazing at the MacBook. We ran a ton of errands, decorated the house for the holidays, and I made some cupcakes. Photos after the jump.

our festive house!

Last night, we ate garlicky pizza and watched Death Proof. Quentin Tarantino never fails to entertain me. And this movie had what is probably my favorite ending EVER.

Wow, those cuppies look good. What kind were they?

Death Proof was fun. You should check out Planet Terror — but not while eating anything. It’s got some scenes that…yeah. Just don’t be eating.

    The cuppies were lemon. Yummy!

Is Planet Terror out on DVD now?

    Awe! Your house looks nice!

This is our first year in our new house at the holidays so I bought wreathes this weekend, to hang on my upstairs windows (I live in a cape with dormer windows). I came home yesterday and my neighbor had put wreathes in her upstairs windows and now I’m sad. I joked about it with her and she said to go ahead and do it anyway. She’s lived there for 41 years and has been doing the wreathes for the past 20 years. But I don’t want to be a copy cat, so I’m trying to think of something else…

It might look nice, having matching houses!

What about candles? I got some battery-powered ones from Target for our front window - it has a sensor in it and turns itself on at dusk and off at dawn. You can see them in the photo (the three orange glowy things).

Really they turn themselves on and off? Those would be perfect for me. I’ll have to take a trip to Target.

They are a little on the pricey side, but totally worth it. And energy efficient!
