Water, Water, Everywhere and Not a Drop to Drink

Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 06:53pm

A water main broke a couple of miles away today, and now we’re not allowed to drink our tap water without boiling it first. Plus our water pressure is quite low, and I’m regretting not taking a shower first thing today. Have you ever seen what a water main break looks like? I hadn’t. It washed away part of the freaking road!

    Holy crap, that’s scary looking!

The kids all got sent home early. The Spawn was so devastated (not).

Whoa! Any news? Is this under control yet?

Yep, they finally isolated the break last night and restored water pressure. But we will probably have to boil our water until sometime tomorrow; I guess by that time any “tainted” water will have flushed through the system already.
