Tori Spelling Cut Out of Inheritance
Tori Spelling’s mom cut her out of her inheritance. Oh SNAP! That is so uncool. I mean, I think it’s hilarious that Tori and Candy are at odds because Candy was apparently stepping out on Aaron with another man when Aaron got sick. And Tori has the balls to be judgemental about it when, HELLO KETTLE. But it was Papa Spelling’s money, and it should go to his children, the way he planned. This would be an awesome Lifetime movie of the week and anyone with half a brain would totally cast Shannen Doherty in the role of Tori.

How much do I love the title of Mary Jo Eustace’s book? So much!

I read a somewhat interesting article yesterday about whether kids should inherit the fabulous wealth of their parents. Warren Buffett (second richest man in the world), has said that his kids won’t inherit his billions. In fact, he just gave most of them to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. http://tinyurl.com/mlmqz
It’s interesting to think about. Is this Candy actually Tori’s mother? Could you imagine NOT taking care of your kids, no matter what they’ve said about you? It’s not like 800,000 clams is nothing, though.
I have a friend who stands to inherit about 10-15 million or so, but he doesn’t count on it. In fact, he conducts his life assuming he’ll never see it. Wise move, I think.

Michael, I want to be friends with you now more than ever. All my friends combined in my whole life have never had that much money.

Chuck, you can imagine my excitement the first time I visited his place and saw Barbra in his CD collection. And Oklahoma! What straight guy has those? So I’ve had to settle for being in his wedding and godparenting his kids. Oh well, he’s hung like a light switch anyway.

Candy really is her mom, so I’m wondering just how bad things have to be with a kid to cut them out of a will for spite. It’s really sad…a rift like that probably will never get repaired.
Whether or not a child “deserves” to inherit his/her parents’ money isn’t at question IMO, but more that it was what Aaron wanted and Candy is going against his wishes. Gross. True, $800K is a shitload of money for us, but for her, it’s just enough to be a slap in the face. I guess the real question is, did Aaron know what he was signing when he signed it? And didn’t Tori and her father reconcile shortly before he died? That stuff is sad. I think my grandmother changed her will several times according to whether or not she was fighting with daughter. Maybe we should all have two wills for our kids – one for if we’re pissed at them, and one for if we’re not. ;)
As for the Gates, I love them. I am sure that his kids will be well taken care of. They’ll probably always have a high-paying job at Microsoft or the Gates Foundation. Nobody needs the kind of money they have, and I think it’s amazing and beautiful that they use it for good and not evil. (Mr. and Mrs. Hilton, I’m looking at you.)

I agree with that, Michael, about how your friend is living his life as though that inheritance is not coming. Jeremy and I are in the process of recieving a small inheritance, from Jeremy’s grandma who died a long while ago. She left her house to her second husband for him to live in for the rest of his life, under the stipulation that the proceeds from the house be split amongst her children/grandchildren after his death. He passed last fall, and the money is tied up in estate mumbojumbo right now, but should be coming along at some point. Who knows when…these things can take forever. One of the recipients of part of this inheritance has already spent it, thinking it was going to show up months ago, and she’s now in some serious debt. I don’t get it. How dumb is that? Seriously.

Really, really dumb.
