NC barbeque ( at least that in the Piedmont area) is pulled pork - the whole pig is pit roasted for hours and basted with a sauce of vinegar and red pepper, and they serve it with hush puppies and coleslaw. I'm absolutely salivating just thinking about it. Hmmm. Maybe time for another trip home to see the parents? Who knew grilled cheese could be so good? With tomato soup.... OMG: Italian Grilled Cheese Fontina, Provolone, Romano and Asiago cheeses on sourdough bread dipped in an Italian bread crumb and Parmesan blend, grilled golden brown. If I had to pick barbecue, it's Kreuz's in Lockhart, TX but you have to make your own sandwich--they just give you the meat and you ask for bread--no sauce.
