Have any of you been to a Jehovah's Witness service? Well, I enjoyed the first part of the service even though I don't in any way agree with the theology. Sometimes it's just nice to hear about what others believe. But then the recruitment began, and I thought it was in horrible taste that there would be RECRUITMENT right in the middle of a sermon supposedly honouring a great (I thought she was great) woman.

The last funeral I attended had a stuffed dog next to a picture of the deceased on a table up front. There were a lot of whispered questions about whether the dog was taxidermy (no) or fake (yes), which I had to answer (omg). And that was the most normal aspect of that whole situation by a ginormous long shot.

Nothing like a minister to add some much needed, unintentional humor to a sad day. Same deal at my grandma's funeral. I felt like I was in a Six Feet Under episode.
