I saw that the other day, but the site I saw didn’t have a photograph! EESH, I didn’t realize it was THAT STYLE of roller coaster with the free hanging feetsies.

I’ve hit that time in my life where I can’t do too many roller coasters without feeling barfy. I now understand why my parents would never want to ride them with me. Thankfully I haven’t lost my taste for funnel cake!

Upside down for that long! My big head would have popped off.

The closest I’ve come to something like that was on a chairlift skiing in Utah. It was an old school lift at Alta, three-man, and some crazy blizzard conditions hit WHILE we were heading up the mountain. They stopped the lift when we were a few hundred yards from the top, but still at least 50 or 60 feet in the air. When the gusts of wind would hit us, I swear we were nearly horizontal. My friend was hysterical and crying, and it went on for 10-15 minutes before they finally just turned it back on, though conditions weren’t any better, and when we got off the wind blew my friend down and she was crying and I was comforting and I so would have scored that night. Actually I did, but she’s a woman, so…..yeah.

why is it that when misfortune hits an amusement park, my mind falls back on fabio getting in by a bird? remember that? hehehe!!!

Ali, ew, I do remember that.

Michael, one time in high school (one time? at band camp?) we were at Great Adventure on the Log Flume and the ride broke down right as our boat got to the very top of the big hill near the end. We had to climb over the side and take the tiny iron stairs all the way down. I’m afraid of heights and it was freaking terrifying.

Yikes! I don’t really fear the heights. That must have been an ordeal for you.

I felt very “one time? at band camp?” as I typed my lil’ story because it’s a tale I tell over and over. Heh. Probably even right here at freakgirl.

While I don’t have a fear of heights, I bet I have a fear of tiny iron stairs.

I would soil myself if this happened to me. This is why I don’t go on any flippy shit at amusement parks.

This is exactly why I don’t do roller coasters. Period.

I apprecaite how Michael took a story of people trapped on a roller coaster and ended by letting everyone know that he scored.

My buddy and I got stuck at the top of the “Hellavator” at Six Flags over Kentucky Kingdom a few years ago. The Hellavator is one of those 12-story free fall drop things. We got to the top, waited for it to fall, waited, waited, realized we were waiting a little too long, waited some more, and realized we were stuck. Fortunately, they were able to back it back down after about 10 minutes, and after they reset it, we were right back on.

Of course, we wouldn’t have been if we would have known that the same ride, renamed The Superman Tower of Power would cut a teenagers feet off.

Chips, if we can’t count on Michael, who CAN we count on?

    Dave, GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Actually, I appreciate his story and feel that at least there is one thing right in the world as a result.

Yeah, when I heard about that and thought about our time on the 12-story extremity-removing machine, my toes curled a little.
