Shizuka Arakawa
I haven’t watched any Olympic coverage at all, but last night I did happen to catch Shizuka Arakawa’s gold-medal-winning performance. Wow. So elegant and smooth. Yay for her!

She looked so happy—she clutched her metal and stood on the ice a good half hour after the whole metal hoopla was over. Adorable! I’m hoping tonight’s coverage shows the guy who ran out on the ice during men’s curling—he was naked with the exception of a strategically placed rubber chicken. Hee Hee!!!

I’m watching the women’s 30K cross country skiing. That’s right, I’m not doing anything that I should be doing…just sprawled out here watching other people work. It’s 25K in and like an hour and 15 minutes and there are still a dozen women in the lead pack. Unbelievable.

You have to read this.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/200.....awford_col It’s funny and kinda inspiring. Chandra Crawford 22-yr-old (Canadian Gold Medal Winner – yay!) switched from “Biathlon” to simply “Cross-country”. “Crawford said she was inspired to take up biathlon, an event that combines cross-country skiing with shooting at targets, by Myriam Bedard who won two golds for Canada at the 1994 Games.
There was only one problem.
“It turned out that I was terrible shot,” she laughed. “I was missing all the targets and I was skiing as hard as I could to try to make up for it.
“Eventually it became apparent that if we could just skip the whole shooting thing it might go better for me.”
And it did! Cool write-up, eh??? Hah.
