I’m shocked and oddly affected by this. My husband watches pretty much everything Russert has been involved in, which means I’ve watched a good amount myself. I’d always thought of him as that guy with the white board from the 2004 election until I started watching more news programming…so, so sad.
so sad. my husband traveled to iowa for the caucuses earlier this year and russert walked up in a crowd at one of the events with a beer in his hand (in jeans — not on the clock) and stood next to him for the course of the event. my husband played it cool, but was pretty thrilled. we’ve watched MTP for years and years. such a loss to journalism.

Very sad. And just before Father’s Day.

That is very sad news. I always watched him on the Today Show, he seemed like such a regular guy, a very sweet man. RIP.

Very, very sad news. I thought he always did an excellent job of being impartial and fair. RIP.

Incredibly sad news. Especially at a time where there are so few like him.

Very sad and tragic. He was the speaker at my college graduation. I always felt a bit of a connection to him.
