Seems more like this is just a case of anti-choice people baiting Planned Parenthood call centers with the lure of money while twisting the language of one of their programs.
I would be more than happy to accept money from racists. In fact, any racists who happens to be reading this, please send me money. I might even donate it to Planned Parenthood, but more importantly send the money now.
The donor sounds believably racist, leads me to think the role might not be too much of a stretch for him.
I’m offended, but not by Planned Parenthood accepting the money. I find it more offensive that the person calling, recording, editing and posting this stuff thinks that this really constitutes a proof of systemic racism within Planned Parenthood.
I don’t agree with the way that the individual within Planned Parenthood phrased her response, as an individual she was complicit in the racism by not confronting it. It is however, very difficult to get someone to hand over their credit card information after you call him a racist.
Strikethrough is < strike > and < /strike > , without the spaces of course.
I agree that the worst person in this scenario is the person who made the original phone call. The whole thing is impossible to debate, in my opinion, because it was a set-up. People do this all the time with campaigns, right, so they can say “OMG HILARY CLINTON ACCEPTS MONEY FROM PUPPEH KILLERS!”
But the person on other end of the phone should have just hung up.
It starts off sounding very much like they want to earmark a donation to specifically help African American women and the caller wants it in his son’s name. Granted, it kind of becomes evident that he’s a crazy racist, but it’s not glaring. He’s not saying, “I hate black babies and want them all to be aborted.” Yes, the employee should have hung up or told them that really wasn’t appropriate or something, but it was just subtle enough that I can see how it slid by.
It’s Idaho for crying o0ut loud! I would think that to be able to live in that state one would have to desensitize themselves to all sorts of crazy racist shit.

Anal-retentive Grammar Note:
I would edit my last sentence in that post to make use of the correct possessive pronoun if I could…
“It is however, very difficult to get someone to hand over their his credit card information after you call him a racist.”
(I really hope that HTML formatting takes, because that will be doubly embarrassing.)
I wish editing was allowed — previews would be very cool too!
