I probably would have left, too. I mean, I get what was going on and that it was safe, but still. When I used to visit my sis in Key West, I had to fly a puddle jumper from Miami to the Keys. One time, before we took off, the pilot came into the cabin and personally rearranged us passengers in order to evenly distribute our weight. Which is perfectly reasonable on such a small plane, but was still a bit unsettling.

The company I work for has a shuttle plane that seats 80, think Southwest not corporate luxury jet. Anyway, because most people only make day trips there are rarely any luggage and the pilot nearly always re-arranges the passengers to rebalance due to the lack of luggage. I can understand not trusting the big coporate airline, but I tend to trust pilots and their decision making abilities. Afterall, they’re going down too if things go wrong, plus they look so handsome in their outfits. Personally I think these people were being irrational and I support the airline’s decision to make them take care of their own new accomodations.
I have been on planes and been labeled as the “fat guy” and have to move seats to “balance” the plane. Granted I’m a big guy but at 5′ 9″ and 250lbs I don’t know if I am really the “fat guy” on the plane.
Either way it is a bit unsettling to be moved because the plane might not take off cause of my lard ass.
Yikes. That would freak me out, too.
This is your captain speaking…. I need three strong gents to hold the wing on. No problem this is S.O.P. Thank you for your cooperation.
