Is Comic-Con in NYC? Maybe FG will bump into Pope.

Your first comment made me think of this from friends, that makes me think of this:

Phoebe: Apparently you can change it to anything you want. So I thought, all right, here’s an opportunity to be creative. So meet Princess Consuela Banana Hammock.

Mike: Aren’t you going to introduce me?
Phoebe: This is my husband… Crap Bag.
Mike: If you need help remembering it, just think of a bag of crap.

That episode makes me laugh every damn time.

Comicon is in NYC - I think the Pope is at the United Nations today. Maybe he’s a closet comic freak?

I think I heard he was some kind of closet freak?! ((sorry))

That last line of Mike’s makes me laugh still. Mike! How cute was he?

I got something. HOW many kinds of happy does THIS news item make me?

    More than I can count.

PS The EARTH moved for me this morning. Anyone else?

How exciting! Can’t wait to see what that’s all about - is this development so new that the linked article is the first news about it? How did I not know?

Love Alan, I still have yet to watch Firefly or Serenity, (I KNOW!) it’s on my list behind all of the seasons of Bones and Arrested Development that I’ve never seen.

I will spend all weekend hoping our subway system does not go on strike come monday.

It’s going to be a long walk home after night classes (not to mention work).

    doh doh doh!

What a freak thing to happen! When I saw that on the news thing morning, I thought of you - is everything ok? Were you close to the center of it all??

I ment “this” not “thing”. My brain is not working today.

Soosan, right there with you! I am too terrified to ride my bike downtown so I may be looking at a 2+ hour walk to work, then another 2+ to get home. I’m hoping it is closer to 2 hours than 3.

Michael, I hear about it on the news and thought, what??? An earthquake WHERE? Apperently people way up in our neck of the woods of southern Ontario also felt tremors. Do you guys get many around those parts?

  11. Soosan on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 1:48 pm

Sandra I’d say if you live anywhere near me, we should walk together! # I just used gmaps pedometer and I’m a 5 km walk…. so not as bad as I thought (but still).

I too and not brave enough to bike downtown (and it’s a 2 week wait at the bike shop for tune ups!).

I must remember to get batteries for my mp3 player. I wonder if I can knit and walk….

  12. Michael on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 1:54 pm

Despite a few fault lines nearby, we don’t get many tremors around here. And by that, I can only remember two other times (and I’m old, yo). It was just few seconds and done. I think the epicenter was way out in Illinois, which is wild to think about.

Maddie, it’s the first I read of Tudyk signing on, but I’ve heard of that series from the “Will and Grace” team a few times. Funny you should mention “Bones.” I’m watching it from the beginning (TNT is playing it on Tuesdays). Minutes ago I finished watching “The Man in the Fallout Shelter” (a very special Christmas “Bones!”#. Bawled my eyes out. LOVING this show.

So what are the odds that my favorite mode of transport, the NYC subway, will shut down? Are they doing last minute talks?

  13. sandra on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 2:02 pm

I don’t know about the NYC subway, but the Toronto Transit Commission’s subway looks likely to be down on Monday# The union has given a Sunday 4pm deadline to strike a deal. Last time it came down to the wire like this they did manage to avert a strike, but something tells me this won’t be the case this time. I hope I’m wrong!

Soosan, I’m way out at Keele and St. Clair! Pray for me!

  14. maddie on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 2:10 pm

Where have I been? I’m usually the one telling others about new shows and they look at me, puzzled. I’ll have to read up on that.

You like Bones too? AHH! Of course you do. That Christmas episode is one of my favorites, I watched it multiple times. I have the last 2 discs of Season 1 coming this weekend, and then Monday I start Season 2. I started watching in the beginning of Season 3. I loooove the dialogue and humor, all the characters are awesome. Great show.

Michael, A rattling screen woke me up, but I thought it was the wind! I didn’t feel the quake though. I felt an “aftershock” this morning at work though…crazy! Oh..I’m in the STL.
