Only Me
Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 08:45pmAll I wanted was a gin and tonic. First I couldn’t find any tonic. Then I had to take a moment to deal with the fact that we have two two-year-old bottles of Clamato in our liquor cabinet. Then I found that I only have a half-inch of gin in the bottle. Then, in the process of searching for more gin, I dropped a candle. And then had to spend precious gin-drinking time cleaning up the explosion of glass on the ceramic tile and carpet. All I wanted was a gin and tonic.

Those Clamatos are TWO YEARS OLD? It’s been two years since we forgot to make Caesars? That’s crazy. Caesars this July; I’ll get some fresh Clamato.

Mmmmm … sour Clamato juice and gin! A new FG party favourite?

You should have bought some gin and some tonic. OH - and a lime or two.

BTW, what’s your gin of choice? I’ve always been a Tanqueray man for my G&Ts and Bombay Saffire for the martinis. But Emilie is hog wild lately over Hendricks and I’m a new convert. It’s pricey though.

I’m on the Tanqueray and Bombay bandwagons as well. Hendricks, you say? I’ll try it!

It’s delicous - sort of a floral taste, which I normally don’t care for. But like I said, it’s expensive - so in these tough economic times, I’m forced to get loaded on regular call liquors. If things get so bad that I have to dip into the well, just kill me.

Now I want a White Lady for lunch. Dirty!
* One part gin
* One part Cointreau
* One part lemon juice
Garnish with a lemon twist! Doesn’t that sound like the drink of the summer? Just when you think it couldn’t be gayer, it’s also called a Chelsea Sidecar.

Now I’m going to have to spend the afternoon drunk. Thanks, guys.
