Your free space is 1GB less than I have on my whole iPod. Whenever I update it, I have to choose what to delete. It’s like Sophie’s Choice every time.

I hate having to make the choice; hence the big iPod. I’m just whinging, though. I won’t be buying a new iPod. This one is perfectly fine and certainly doesn’t need my massive and ridiculous collection of cover songs on it.

I still have my 1st generation 10GB model. It’s a workhorse and has better battery life than anyone else’s I know of. I just manage my music - for me, 10 GB is always plenty to choose from in any given moment.

Susie, DO NOT delete Sophie’s Choice. Delete Taster’s Choice. I think it was nominated for fewer oscars.

(actually, I feel the opposite way - cheers to coffee commericals featuring Buffy cast members, jeers to Meryl Streep, as TV Guide would say.)

Ipod’s are great but I think they are getting of control. I have 3 and none of them do exactly what I want them to do.

As much as I like the archiving qualities of digital music I kind of hate the listening experience that goes along with it. I guess that debate goes back to the early days of the compact disc when the song shuffle feature killed the rock album format. Damn you song shuffle feature!

Anyway is choosing what songs you are going to listen to a few hours before you leave the house really that awful?

    Yes. Yes, it is.

I concur. I hate having to decide what to delete. My boyfriend got me a 160G iPod Classic for Christmas…I love it! Of course, now the damn thing won’t sync to add new songs. Sigh.

Almost 24GB of music? Oh for chrissake.

My big iPod has 80GB, which should be fine for a long time unless I figure out how to portabilize my porn.

“When I grew up we didn’t have those things called iPods. We had to listen to 1 cassette with 22 songs on it, and that’s all we had- and we liked it!”

I’m right there with you except it’s with a 80G model. 16K+ songs and I’m running outta room. I know 16K sounds like a lot of songs but it’s not really. I unloaded my 30G last summer and had no toruble filling this 80G up in under a year.

I both curse and exhalt the shuffle feature.
