Geekboy, I agree…. I ALWAYS like the concept of movies that take place in one night (a la Harold & Kumar, Ferris Beuller, Before Sunrise… ). Hope this one is as promising as the trailer suggests.
Michael Cera is something of a comic genius, though Juno bugged me. But since when is Jay Baruchel (sp? the guy from Undeclared) the tough? That’s some casting…
I love Cera. I’m interested to see where he goes from here though. He’s a bit “one note” - but people have built entire careers on one-note, so maybe who cares, right?
Chips - I agree about Juno. It was just OK to me, didn’t live up to the hype. The acting was good, but I HATED a great deal of the script. Still can’t believe she won an Oscar for it.
thanks for the confirmation, chuck. I agree. it was very well performed, and I liked it in the theatre, but after, as time went on, I grew to really hate the themes and the dialogue. I agree, an oscar for that, a shameless attempt to sound “current” and “with it” and “like the kids talk” was nauseating.
I’m not–the book is a hopeful YA version of Before Sunrise, and this just looks jokey and predictable. And if they changed Nick’s band from queercore and de-gayed the bandmates, I’ll just be miffed.

I knew you’d be all over this.

Yep — I’ve been waiting to see the trailer ever since the project was announced. I’m such a sucker for Michael Cera.

And movies that take place all in one night.

Michael Cera = Bob Newhart. He could do worse.

I’m all kinds of excited for this movie.

there were some awkward moments in this movie that were hard to get past… such as every time that gum was re-used (yuck!)
