New Jill Sobule Music
I have two new songs for you by Jill Sobule. One is her now-infamous Bobbie Gentry tune, which has even made it to Bobbie’s Wikipedia entry. The other is a cover of Nelly’s Hot in Herre, performed on the banjo. I know!

Didn’t think I could love her more, but now I do. Now if she would only cover “Air Force Ones”.

I like songs built on pop cultural foundations like “Where is Bobbie Gentry,” or like “Killing Me Softly” which is about Don McClean singing “American Pie” which is about the death of Buddy Holly.

Awesome! Yay! Thanks for the tunes.
The funniest thing I’ve heard “sort of” like that was a remix someone did, putting “Drop it like it’s hot” with the music of Huey Lewis’ “Power of Love” – hehe!
