New Jersey Parks to Close?

I cannot even believe this is a possibility. The State of NJ wants to close nine state parks. NINE. (Central Jerseyans - Round Valley is included in these nine.) I understand there is a budget crisis, but closing some of the only open space in New Jersey, a place where open spaces are far and few between? And potentially introducing the privatization of state parks? Do you really want to go mountain biking at the Coors Light Reservoir? Find out more and get involved here.

Absolutely reprehensible. If they want to save money, they should start by firing some of the overpaid government bureaucrats.

Totally. Also - “Island Beach State Park is the only state park that pays for itself through fees, the DEP said, and neither it nor the governor’s official residence there will be affected by the cuts unveiled.”
Mmmm hmmmm.
