Monday, January 14, 2008 at 10:31amWe were supposed to get a huge snowstorm last night, and instead we got jack. I was so looking forward to snow, I can’t even tell you. What a disappointment. Why do I even bother listening to the weather? They know NOTHING. This morning we had to take the kittens back to the shelter. I am equal parts relieved and sad. Maybe a little more on the sad side. I can’t bring myself to clean up their room and put away their stuff quite yet…we sent them off to their new home with two of their favorite toys. I hope they have a happy life.
After the jump are a few photos I took this weekend. I was hoping to get some great shots of our backyard cardinals against a backdrop of snow. Instead you’ll have to settle for squirrels and Meena. Sorry!

Meena and my Okee have something in common,

(warning, picture is huge, but cute and worth it)

What is up with the tongues? Do they just have them hanging out like that? My cats never do that, but I wish they would!
The squirrels are cute, too.

Sadie used to do that with her tongue sometimes. Cute!
So long Little Face and cute spazzy Becks. Seriously, playing with those two REALLY makes me want to get another cat. Maybe after the store has been open for a while…

Okee does it quite often, she just falls asleep and her tongue sticks out. Then she’ll wake up and it will still be sticking out. Or she’ll do it when she’s awake, and she’ll just stare at my blankly. The cutest.

Meena does it after she smells something she doesn’t like. Or sometimes she’s taking a bath and just forgets to put it back. I love it. She looks so silly.

Sadie did it in response to smells.

The weather channel (specifically weather.com) was really wrong about us here in Boston. It started snowing last night at like 11, and snowed heavy all morning, and their website still says “1 to 3 inches likely.” We passed that mark hours ago.

Nicci’s cat sticks his tongue out, too. Aw.
