Last night I was lucky enough to be invited to a preview tour of this year’s Metropolitan Home Showtime House in NYC. I dragged along Janet and Lisa for company. The Showtime House is a pair of multimillion dollar penthouses in Tribeca, taken over by 14 architects and designers in the spirit of Showtime original series. This photo is me in the Californication bedroom, lying on the bed. Amazing.
The House opens to the public this weekend (although I believe it’s sold out) and will run through October 18th. More info here. AND — all proceeds benefit the non-profit organization Housing Works.

We had a wonderful time at the House — thanks to Mica and Rommel from Showtime, who were excellent hosts. We also were able to speak to a few of the designers, and it was really cool to hear more about their visions and inspirations. I was so impressed with everything I saw.

Cool! I used to work at 388 Greenwich St, and always loved the neighborhood down there so much.
And you look fab in that picture! You don’t need no boot camp.
Curved mirrors are a WONDERFUL thing, Rona.
The only thing I don’t like about that neighborhood is driving down cobblestone streets. Mah teeth are still rattling.
I have to say that yesterday was the most hassle-free drive I have EVER had into the city. I picked up Lisa at Rutgers about 4:35pm, and we were in Tribeca at 5:30. That’s insanity. The last time Lisa and I drove via the Holland, it took us nearly 2 1/2 hours to get into the city. NIGHTMARE.
Looks so fun. I looked to see if you could buy tickets in advance but i don’t see info for that anywhere. I’ll have to stroll up there one weekend =)
I didn’t see info on that, either. You should go, though, if you can. I’d love to see what the penthouse terraces look like in daylight.
