Step Up for the ARC Walkathon!

Kitten Status

Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 02:01pm

I just brought the kittens to the shelter to get their second worming. Good times! The staff all came to see little Posh and Becks, and oohed and aahed over how much they’ve grown and how sweet and mellow they are. It was nice…the ACO even told me, “Great job!” In ten more days we’ll find out if they’re ready to get neutered. They have both been doing well the past few days; happy and healthy - the meds are working.

While I was there, a guy came in and adopted a dog. Everyone was practically jumping up and down; turns out this dog has been living at the shelter for two years. And now it’s going to have a home for Christmas. I can’t stop smiling, thinking about it.

That is the best thing I’ve heard all week! I’m so glad for that pup.

I was going to ask for a picture! Yay puppy! Thanks for the nice story - esp after the brutal rape one.
fyi - you have GOT to listen to the Animal Intuition lady on Sirius, she’s just awesome. Every Tuesday from like 6am to 8am on Channel 102 - Sonya Fitzpatrick.

Wow! That’s a beautiful dog. I love Chows. Not for everybody, those, with a strong will and lots of spirit.

Now I want a dog again. The universe needs to deliver me a boyfriend and a house for us to share and then I’ll adopt a dog. Is that so much to ask for Christmas?

You know what was so cute; this one woman that works at the shelter kept saying to me, “Doesn’t he look great with that dog? Doesn’t he look great?” The guy was tall and big, and she was just so thrilled, “Did you see him walking Skippy? Did you see? They’re so perfect together!” I thought she was going to collapse with excitement.

I think good days like that are so far and few between in an animal shelter.

I love hearing stories like this….I’m glad the shelter decided to keep him for 2 years and gave him a chance at a home. Yey animal adopters!
