Just downloaded the new iTunes — pretty! I have a question for any of you experts out there. Is it possible for me to run iTunes on two computers, with a shared music library? One a PC and one a MacBook, off a shared network drive? I’m assuming I can do it; I just want to find out if there’s anything I need to know first.

This should be possible, but I’m not sure it’s an “officially supported” thing. There are a bunch of tips online, such as:

The basic gist is to put your music library AND the itunes library index/database somewhere on your network where all the computers can see it. Then there is a simple trick to change the itunes config to use that copy.
The only thing I would worry about is whether itunes is really “concurrent” (meaning that updates to the database made from any computer will not clobber updates from another) – but if you only add/buy songs from one computer you’ll probably be fine. My suggestion: MAKE A BACKUP of the library and config before you start!
I miss JHymn, unprotecting all the stupid m3p files was a much better solution…

You can run it on one, and turn sharing on, and on your network, you can listen to the files. At my old job (was laid off almost two weeks ago) we used to do it with several people. Go into the options and turn that sharing on.
