I Thought She Was Cute

I thought Britney did a decent job on last night’s How I Met Your Mother. The episode as a whole wasn’t the funniest they’ve ever done, but the storyline was sweet and I thought Britney played the dorky receptionist just fine. She even made me laugh out loud once or twice.

I thought she did a good job. She looked healthy and non-skanky. Even the hair looked decent. Amazing what psych meds will do!

I was thinking that for all the new viewers they hoped to attract with the stunt-casting, this episode was 90% heart and 10% funny. Usually it’s the other way around.

Although Marshall predicting exactly what he would want to eat in ten weeks and then getting to see him eat it (shrimp cocktail, sloppy joe and a milkshake) was classic.

I thought it was cute, albeit tame.

I think was definitely a case where the directing and writing makes all the difference. Because I remember seeing Brit’s appearance on Will & Grace, and was unimpressed. But this time around, she seemed to be following a “less is more” path, with just a few quirky shticks that, like Freakgirl, made me laugh out loud.

I agree. She was mildly funny, didn’t embarrass herself and looked good. Sarah Chalke however, has top-notch comdic timing/chops and ALWAYS looks good. Hell, Scrubs is ending, Chalke should join the HIWYM cast next year, she’d be a perfect addition, assuming HIMYM gets renewed.

It wasn’t as bad as I was anticipating. It did sort of seem like a character so obviously put in the episode for her to have a role. But she was decent.
