I Am Frail
Monday, July 14, 2008 at 11:04amI just pulled a muscle in my neck putting together a laundry hamper. I think it’s time for me to enter a nursing home.

Yeah, pretty much. Don’t worry, I’ll help you with that tricky applesauce, on the days I come to visit.

Take it from a guy who has thrown his back out while opening a shower door and while brushing his teeth: You’ve got a long way to go before you beat me in the race to the home!
Max on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 2:16 pm
(A helpful quote from a grad school roommate that I forgot to add above: “Max, you must be the only 23-year-old in the world with two boxes of Doan’s Pills in his medicine cabinet.” )

Ha ha ha, Max!
Anyway, we’ve all thrown something by doing nothing. I screwed up my lower back the week before you visited by standing in the shower and blinking. Jeremy just the other day turned his head to look left and cricked his neck really bad. Just a nerve sitting in the wrong place at the wrong time, I guess!

Feeble. All y’all.

Oh shut up, Mr. I Ran Sixteen Miles Yesterday.
I fart in your general, well-toned and incredibly fit direction.

Last week, the woman who sits next to me (who is currently talking to me) admitted that over the weekend, she had thrown out her back eating bacon.
freakgirl on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Chips, I want to be her friend.

I once coughed so hard I snapped a rib in two. We OLD.
freakgirl on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 4:26 pm
My sister did that last year! Fortunately, my ribs are encased in “natural padding.”

GeekBoy on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 5:11 pm

i pinched a nerve in my neck checking for oncoming traffic on a freeway. i actually drove to work (so much harder than it sounds) in my jeep with my neck stuck to the side. i was too freaked out to go to the doctor so i stayed at work like that. fortunately that was the wall with a window. finally someone tried to “wake” me by shaking me and my god did i scream. hehehe everyone thought i was just sleeping all day and it took them until almost 2pm to wake me.
nice coworkers.
but i feel for you FG. your neck is used in EVERYTHING…ugh!

I went to a Thai massage place and the girl pulled my arms back and POP I couldn’t move and I drove slowly to the chiropractor then lied to him and said I hurt myself at the gym because I was too embarrassed to say I went to a Thai massage place.

You young kids don’t know what old is. A few years ago I turned the wrong way, herniated a lumbar disc, and was incapacitated for two months,
