Howard Stern

I got up before 6:00am so I could hear the first satellite Howard Stern Show. Good times. They opened with a farted rendition of Also Sprach Zarathustra. A few minutes ago, Howard announced that he and Beth O. were married over vacation. A few minutes after that, he admitted he was lying. Heh. In the best news of all, the new “voice of the Howard Stern show” is none other than George Takei.

And the word of the day is … “cunty”.

It was great listening on my way to work. I had to get out of the car before he announced whether or not he was married, so thanks for reporting. I love that he has George Takei on – he’s flowing well with the group. And I just love Artie to death. So far, so good.

it’s true, the very BEST thing is having an aged c’list celebrity being the announcer. Is that the best he can do? To have some barely remembered noname do announcing, and after this week he won’t even be in the studio, he’ll record his spots somewhere else. How dumb is that?!

he’s so washed up it’s an embarrassment. There is no humor in his show. He doesn’t shock anymore. He tries to help 19 year olds jerk off. Guess what? With all the resources available to everyone the world over to help in that aspect, Hoo Hoo Howie brings nothing new to the table.

Sirius, and Hoo Hoo, are on a freight train towards destruction, and I’m loving every second of it

Oh, by the way, the “Satellite Pioneer”… those Pat Obrien sex tapes being aired “uncensored for the first time”… hate to brake it to that phony, but those Opie and ANthony guys on XM have been broadcasting it, complete and unsensored, for over 8 months now.

  5. Thanks for sharing. What the hell? And it’s “break.” And “uncensored.”

Just figured if you’re going to rant on about how much Howard sucks on my blog, I’d help you a bit with your grammar. You’re welcome. #

And as for the tapes, Howard said he was airing them uncensored for the first time on HIS show.

Gee Dave, Opie and Anthony fan much?

Seriously man, if you’re going to rant about how much you dislike the man, at least get it right. Howard didn’t say that he was airing the Pat O’Brien tapes for the first time ever — just the first time for his own show. On his old terrestrial radio show, he had to bleep them.

As for the merits of George Takei … if you don’t get it, you don’t get it. But 10 million other people do, and they love it.

As for whether or not Howard and Sirius are “washed up” … only time will tell. But what I find interesting is the eagerness of Opie and Anthony fans to bash Howard, when without Howard there to pave the way for “shock radio” 20 years ago, those “frat jocks” would probably be spinning Top 40 records right now. Even if you don’t like or choose not to listen to his show, the least you could do is show the man some respect.

  10. I’m sorry, did you just demand respect for Howard Stern? #

  11. Ha ha! Seriously, though, um, yes.

    Afraid so. #

  14. Howard Stern is back and bolder than ever with his new show on Sirius radio, a satellite broadcast that is free from the FCC’s censorship. Is this a good thing or not? Well in order to hear him now you must pay a subscription fee so that should keep the casual young listener from tuning in, even accidently. But you know if today’s parents were worth a damn, they’d already be supervising what their children do, yet the majority who oppose Stern’s show DON’T know what their kids are doing.
My opinion: Stern’s show was / is bad for the morality of this country, but then again so is the behavior of some Presidents, Priests (and self appointed “ministers” (read Pat Robertson)), Sports figures, pop stars, Hollywood, the list goes on and on.
Some of his stuff is (to me) funny, some sophomoric, juvenile and yes even boring. I mean after awhile sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, and showcasing all the worlds idiots and lowlifes gets old even for me. What I do enjoy most though is his interviews. Howard Stern asks ALL the questions others cannot or fear not ask, so you do get to see another side of someone you perhaps have seen interviewed many times before on “family” (censor) radio, TV, and print
So Howard, I know you don’t care and neither would I if I were you, but I like and admire you (and your show usually), but that’s because I was raised in an increasingly immoral society and am addicted to many of the same things that most of your fans are. I only hope that you also are hooked on and enjoy that which you broadcast and aren’t just doing a job. I say this because in a “soundbite” aired on TV today I heard you say that ” I don’t order anyone to get naked now and show me your genitals, but I will talk to and interview them if they want.
P.S. I don’t pay for water to drink, nor air for my tires, nor wait on line to get money that is mine anyway, so the odds are I won’t be able to hear your show anymore, because neither will I pay for radio that should be free.
I’m both sad AND relieved; one less vice to entertain. Thank you Howard, thank you Sirius, thank you FCC

Dude, you just completely reprinted a post from your own blog. That’s not cool.

Not to mention, I’m not even sure what your point was.

  16. You do realize that this isn’t Howard Stern’s blog, right?

I’m not sure why you posted an entry from your blog here on my blog – a link would suffice. However, I vehemently disagree that “Stern’s show was / is bad for the morality of this country.”

My morality is mine and mine alone. If an entire country can be led astray because of some guy on the radio doing schtick, the problem is something totally different.

Wow, spam attacks on Freakgirl, and all because of Howard. Weirdness abounds.

  19. Well, I think Dave’s just a garden-variety troll, since the first time he shows up here he’s very negative. The second dude seems to think his post was so great it should be on everyone’s blog. The SateLink thing isn’t spam…it’s just a trackback because the post linked to this blog entry.

But man, y’all feel so strongly about Howard!

  20. I didn’t know whether or not Wordpress automatically linked trackbacks…it’s never happened before.

And yeah, we love Howard around these parts. #

  21. Oh, you silly Austrailians.

Did I spell that right? That doesn’t look right.

  22. You can disable it in the admin panel. And I didn’t just mean love…those who hate Howard, really hate him.

  23. Very true. In this area, if you liked shock jocks, you’re either a Howard person or an Opie and Anthony person. And they all seem to hate each other.

I’ve been listening to Howard since I was a leetle girl, so you know where my allegiance lies.

  24. Am I the only one who was relieved that he hadn’t married Beth O?
