He Is Iron Man

This afternoon we caught a matinee of Iron Man. Oh my gah, it was so good. Jon Favreau did a stellar job, and Robert Downey Jr. is the motherflipping HOTNESS, you have no idea. And Fishsticks didn’t even annoy me. Go see it. Try to spot Peter “Ralphie” Billingsley in a cameo. And stick around for the credits.

Discuss in the comments - obviously SPOILERS abound.

If you’re going to talk about the movie, try not to put anything big in your first sentence, as it shows up on the front page.

    Thanks!

I was a full-on Iron Man virgin going in and I freakin’ LOVED it. I wanna have RDJ’s iron babies.

(And I need an explanation of that scene after the credits.)

Michael, I’ll send an explanation offline!

Thanks! I think I want to see it again already.

Also, I agree that Jon Favreau did a great job directing.

Could I bring the crazy nephews to see this? They have been driving everyone insane to see it as they keep watching commercials for it.

Beth, I don’t know. I’d advise against it because there’s a storyline set in Afghanistan that is quite violent and, in one scene, completely upsetting. Lots of violence and blood. Michael, do you agree?

I agree. And that being the case, I’m a little confused about why they’d cross-market this movie with Burger King and give out Iron Man toys to kids. Because it’s a PG-13 movie, but I’m guessing it’s not 13+ year olds who want those toys.

Having said that …. this movie was AWESOME!!!

Speaking of Burger King, that’s something that really annoyed me in the movie. When he came back from being imprisoned in a cave for three months, all he wants is a burger and he gets Burger King instead of In-and-Out? No way! I don’t mind product placement if it’s done in a seamless manner, but that was just obnoxious.

And AUDI must have paid out the nose.

I have to agree about kids. It’s not “comic book” violence, it’s the real thing, especially in the first half. On the other hand, I can totally see my 7 y.o. nephew really digging this. Heh. I guess I don’t know.

I loved it! I’m with you freakgirl. Motherflipping hotness indeed!!

I concur with the hotness. I told my boyfriend he should shave his facial hair to look like Robert Downy Jr.’s #

Do you call Paltrow Fishsticks or someone else? Where did that come from?

Review on my blog as well of course.

When Ted Casablanca was still on E!, he used to call her that because he said he found her boring, white breaded and bland.

    Gotta go read your review!

Haha, how odd, yet kinda appropriate.
