Grab Bag
Wednesday, December 05, 2007 at 10:12amA couple things that are running through my mind today:
– I have three skeins of red yarn. What should I do with them? Can I make a Santa Hat?
– We have had these kittens since Saturday, and they still haven’t cried. Not one meow.
– Can you freeze cookie dough? Are there any you absolutely shouldn’t freeze?
– I want a BLT. So much.

1. Santa hat, or a really long elf hat. I’m rather fond of the extra long elf-type hat.
2. Hmm. Perhaps they don’t wish to express themselves verbally? They prefer to let their sense of style/ football-playing abilities speak for themselves?
3. Yes, you can. I don’t know of any cookie dough you can’t freeze, but I’m sure there must be one or two. I’ve frozen peanut butter, chocolate chip and shortbread dough with no trouble. Already made cookies are easy to freeze as well, especially denser ones like shortbread. And, final tip: if the cookies are already made, stick half a slice of bread in with the cookies. The bread will absorb the moisture in the air and keep the cookies fresher, longer.
4. I’ve been a vegetarian for six years and have been craving a BLT with cheese for, like, ages. Gah.

My babies don’t meow much and didn’t at all for about the first 2 months that we had them. When they did start making more noises it was more chirps than meows.

Ky, I’ve solved #4, for both of us! We have some of this in the freezer, so I’ll make myself a sammie with that. It’s not quite the same, but it’s close enough.
Bacon is the reason I fell off the vegetarian wagon, years ago.

Bluebunny, I guess I am used to my cats never shutting up. Posh & Becks are so damn mellow! They don’t hide from us, they don’t really fight us, and they’re already crawling up on my lap asking for cuddles. I wuv them.

Also, does anyone have a good Santa/Elf hat pattern?

Those are some freakin’ cute cats. Does the one have a giant patch of orange on its shoulder?
I am weak for the orange.
freakgirl on Wednesday, December 05, 2007 at 1:42 pm
Yep, Posh has blotches of orange.

awwwwwwww i remember i had my puppy for approx a year before he barked. ever. i heard him talk when he was yawning (more like a howl) and i heard him whimper once or twice, but when he first barked - it shook the house and i giggled endlessly.
i used to think talking cats were the best. i always encouraged my kitties to talk. now i have one that will NOT shut up and although it really is funny b/c people on the phone with me are like - who’s talking? you or mickey?!
hehehehehe i wonder what they sound like!!!

Soosan, thanks, I will check them out!
ali, Long Legs didn’t meow for years. Years! He would just open his mouth and nothing would come out. Now he’s found his voice and it’s all scratchy.
