freecycle

cassette tapes!
Freecycle is such fun. I’ve been watching it like a hawk for the past couple of days, hoping to score an old fridge for our new garage. Today I offered up some stuff from the back of our closet – a mixed lot of 140 cassette tapes; 80s new wave and pop and other odd stuff mixed in. We also have a wooden wall holder for the tapes. I got a response literally five minutes after the offer was posted. Who is the person sitting there, maybe hitting “refresh” over and over, waiting for that ultimate score, the booty of cassette tapes? I suppose I’ll find out later today.

    I got scolded on one of the freecycles around me. Apparently I did not follow proper procedure. Parenthesis MUST always go around the name of the town in the subject. I really like freecycle but sometimes the moderators are anal.

    I only put the zip code in and not the name of my town, and the moderator just changed it for me. Moderators are pretty tough sometimes but I guess you have to be or the boards just get all clogged up. It would be nicer if the boards were set up in a way where the rules are right in front of you, though.
