It’s a shame that most people hear the ‘warming’ in Global Warming and think it means hotter weather. It does, but it also means weather changes. Colder winters, freak storms, bigger hurricanes etc… sound familiar?

We’ve had really screwy weather down here in the southern hemisphere. It’s summer here and yet three states had SNOW on Christmas Day. In Victoria it went from 31C (90F or something?) on one day and then 3C a couple of days later. I read in the newspaper yesterday that the southern hemisphere, and Oz in particular, might be the most effected currently. Shut up Denver.

Rona - I just went outside and checked. My bulbs ARE coming up. This sucks; it happened once before and they got snowed on and died.

You know, I thought I was maybe going crazy the other day, when I thought I saw buds on a Cherry Blossom tree. I’m glad y’all said something.
And the daffodils are up about an inch and a half in my brother’s garden.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read that the cherry blossoms are blooming. I bet my spring bulbs come up in couple weeks.

Silly liberals. You just can’t admit that this is happening because it was the way God designed things in the beginning. OK, maybe he is doing some redesigning right now, because Cherry trees never used to blossom in NY in January, but there ain’t no way us humans have anything to do with it. Nope. Much of the Fox News fanbase seems unable/unwilling to think outside of simplistic absolutes, so I’m guessing that as long as there’s any snow still in existence anywhere, they’re going to struggle with the global warming concept. I mean, these are generally the same people who dismiss evolution because they think it necessarily includes inviting Uncle Monkey to any holiday that involves deep-frying a turkey in the side yard. Personally, I suspect that whenever they attempt to engage their critical thinking skills it smells sort-of like toast and then everything goes black, so at this point in the game I just try to nod along whenever they talk crazy.

“You know what all that snow in Denver means, dontcha?”
“Hmm?”
“The Al-Qaeda’s in cahoots with the illegal aliens.”
“Let’s have more pie.”
