Feeling Better

Friday, January 18, 2008 at 09:25am

I’m feeling much better today; I slept well (thanks, percocet!) and slept in late. My back is still stiff but I’ve regained a lot of mobility. Having meds on hand from last time really helped, I think, along with immediately icing my back. It gave me a head start on treatment, whereas last time I think it was almost 36 hours before I saw a doctor. So, fingers crossed, I’m over the worst of it.

Icing? I always thought you needed to warm the sore spot?
Or did you put powdered sugar on it #

Marjon I’m always so confused over heating vs. warming for aches and pains. You see muscle creams… some to cool, some to heat….

    Which is it??? -??

oh my gah… sorry, I’m further confusing the matter.

I meant to say, I’m confused over heating vs. cooling for aches and pains.

    Marjon, hee hee hee!

As for ice vs. heat - as I understand it, you use ice for acute injuries (recent and where swelling can be an issue) and heat for chronic (to help loosen and relax).
