The Emmy nominations were announced this morning. 30 Rock up for three thousand awards! Jim Parsons nominated! Bazinga! Other thoughts: Can’t believe Entourage was nominated, as it has sucked eggs for the past two seasons. Thrilled that Piven was finally snubbed, though. Glad to see Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange nominated for HBO’s Grey Gardens (it’s out on DVD now, btw). Your thoughts?

This is Neil Patrick Harris’ YEAR. I feel it. Now that Jeremy Piven (his wins enrage me!) is out thank god, he has a good chance I think.

Pulling for Michael Emrson to finally win but I think Josh Holloway should have gotten a nom as well.
And how can Chuck be ignored! It was so great this season and needs the publicity obviously. Hmph
Actor noms for Sheen and Cryer in Two and a Half Men, and The Family Guy for best comedy? Sorry, but no. Aaron Paul’s nom for Breaking Bad is so deserved, as is of course Cranston’s (I love Hamm but I’d choose Cranston for best actor), and can’t believe no one from Friday Night Lights was nominated.
I cannot wait to see what whacky outfit Drew Barrymore and Drew Barrymore’s hair will wear to the event, and bring on the Tracy Jordan crazy!
Speaking of Emmy nods, is there a way someone can give me the super abridged version of what I missed in at least one season of Weeds, maybe two?? This week Nancy made a comment about having two husbands die. Who else was she married to besides Botman? And why did they move from wherever it was they used to live to that old house by the beach? Thanks – suprisingly I know no one in ‘real’ life who watches the show!

Lake, Nancy married a DEA agent and he got murdered because everything she touches turns to shit. They moved from Agrestic to the beach because the feds were onto her so she burned down her house and moved into her in-laws beach house. I think her father-in-law extorted $$ from her and he took off to parts unknown.
Something like that.

Ya – what ABOUT Friday Night Lights? Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton – so talented and wonderful. Zach Gilford? That show will probably never get the accolades it deserves.
I was pretty psyched to see How I Met Your Mother up for Best Comedy. I definitely feel like that’s one of the best comedies on the air and it’s not just NPH (although yes he is a big part). Also VERY deserving is Kristen Wiig – Best Supporting Actress, Comedy. No contest, she should win. I feel like she carries SNL.
Alison Pill should have gotten the nom instead of Hope Davis for In Treatment. And I LOVE Hope Davis. That’s how good Alison Pill was.
Dianne Wiest is the queen though.
My fave, Always Sunny in Philadelphia – snubbed.
