This is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever heard. I had no idea something like this could even happen — did you? Our hearts go out to Johnny’s family.

    That’s just so incredibly sad and terrifying. I’d never heard of this either. And those symptoms describe nearly every overtired, crabby kid that climbs out of a swimming pool after a day of fun, plus when DON’T they swallow some water in the pool?

    Why have I never heard of this? The mental image of that poor woman finding her son like that when she went to check on him haunts me. I feel so sad for them.
