Wait a minute. Didn’t matter last time? Very questionable poll results gave Ohio to Bush in ‘04, which won the election for him.
As for the problem being fixed, it was just shown in the last few months here in Ohio that electronic voting machines can be compromised with such complex tools as a PDA or a magnet.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not even suggesting some conspiracy. Just that exit polls in some precincts were diametrically opposed to the ballot results. Anyway, there’s a move afoot here to go back to all paper ballots. I hope it happens.

Well, it’s only fair that a low-tech guy like me has an equal opportunity to corrupt the election process.
Did you see that list of links regarding the ‘04 election results in Ohio? Wow.

i wonder if it’ll make any difference at all this time around…it didn’t seem to matter when the polls were f*cked last time….

That happened a year ago, though. Not that it’s any less important… but hopefully that’s been all fixed up by now.

Yeah, I’m sure it’s all fixed up by now.
Amy, I wish I could feel as positive as you!

That’s so crazy. The key/lock mechanism they used to secure their machines was so simple that a replica could be made FROM A PHOTO?
Does Diebold also make armored cars? Just curious.

They did make an armored car once, but it was destroyed when it accidentally hit a small dog.

michael, that’s what i meant. there was a highly publicized glitch and in the end, it didn’t seem to matter that a glitch won the election…

Oh.
Never mind. ;-)
