We were in N’Orleans this past weekend, and stopped in at Nola, one of Emeril’s restaurants. We had one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had, and it is pretty damn close to stuffing on a stick, but its more like the whole meal: “Miss Hay’s stuffed chicken wings” – they’re medium sized chicken wings, with most of the bone removed (just enough to qualify as “on a stick”) with the meat part stuffed with pork, shrimp, glass noodles, and spices, then the whole thing is lightly fried. Oh-my-freaking-god.
Every time I start to cook something and pull out the butter my Yankee boyfriend turns around and speaks loudly, “Hey Y’all! I’m PAULA DEEEEEN.” Always makes me laugh.
