“Mermaids of New York” is a documentary project created by filmmakers Ilise S. Carter and Mica Scalin. Where the seas of imagination collide with the streets of New York and mermaids live in enchanted grottoes everywhere from the East Village to Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. You may not believe this now, but it is all true; real mermaids are living in the greatest metropolis on earth!
Mica is the nice girl who invites me to those cool Showtime events, so let’s give her some support. The project sounds supercool, you guys.

Woke up this morning and my neck still hurts. Went searching for things to blog about and everything is just too depressing or gross. I am pretty down about work and money right now so…whatever.
Obama’s Plan in Four Minutes
Here’s Obama’s healthcare plan, boiled down to four minutes of bullet points. It’s worth watching. I don’t really feel like opening up a political debate about Obama today, but I will say that I honestly and truly cannot understand why ANYONE feels the need to prevent people from having insurance. Because isn’t that what it comes down to, in the end? No national insurance plan means no insurance for a lot of Americans. Why do people find that acceptable?
Pain in My Neck
I woke up Sunday morning with a stiff neck or a pinched nerve or whatever you want to call it. It was sore all day, complete with spasms, pain down through my shoulder and arm and all that crap. It’s now Tuesday and I’m still in pain. I’m so over it. After waking up several times last night because I can’t find a comfortable way to sleep — and being unable to lift my head off the pillow this morning — I’m throwing in the towel and calling the doctor today. Don’t know if they’ll just load me up with prescriptions or refer me to a chiro or what, but this is ridiculous. I haven’t been able to go to Boot Camp yet this week because I don’t think I should be running and lifting weights when I can’t even turn my head to the right. Ugh ugh UGH.
