Weird Dreams
I have this recurring dream about watching an aircraft crash or explode. I don’t know where it came from — maybe watching too much Lost or perhaps the airplanes on 9/11 — but it occurs often and it’s always so upsetting. I’m usually out on the lawn when I see it happen, in the dream. I had the dream again last night. This time it was a helicopter. I was outside with my mom and sister and we could hear a helicopter buzzing around. I kept saying that it didn’t sound right and the noise got closer and I made everyone get up on the porch. Then a helicopter just fell out of the sky and hit the ground in front of us, cockpit first, and burst into flame. I ran inside to tell my dad to call 911, but my voice wouldn’t work, no matter how loud I tried to scream.
Later, when I went outside to survey the scene, the rotors from the helicopter were hanging from a tree. I took a photo.
I’ve had this dream about airplanes and rockets, too. What does it mean?

Off to Florida, Again

Yes, I know I was just there like 2 weeks ago. That was a spur-of-the-moment trip. This one’s been planned for awhile, though. It’s Freakniece #1′s birthday tomorrow and I can’t miss that, can I? I’ll be making her some cupcakes with handmade Harry Potter toppers that she can bring into school for her class. Then she’ll open prezzies tomorrow night. I also have plans to go biking on Sunday, which I’m looking forward to. Especially since FL is pretty damn flat. And of course whatever other tomfoolery my sister and BIL and I get into. I’ll blog and tweet from down there (ugh, that sounds weird), so you won’t get a chance to miss me much. Toodles!
Please Allow Me to Brag for a Moment
I’ve been pretty slack the past few weeks about my workout regimen. My eating habits are sloppy, I’m not sleeping right and my workouts are more infrequent than frequent. However, I’ll be going back to Boot Camp in mid-September so I’ll be fine. I started working out again yesterday, and I plan to do some biking with my friend Whitney while I’m in Florida this weekend. That’s not the big news, though. A few minutes ago, I crouched down on the floor to see if Meena was hiding under the futon (she was). While I was down there, it made me think of the Crow Pose in yoga, something I tried to do for nearly a year with absolutely no success. I know I’ve built up some upper-body strength over the past few months due to Boot Camp, so I thought I’d be silly and give it a try.
MY FAVORITE!
This is so cute, I just keep going back and looking again and again. I think it’s the enthusiasm that I love so much.
KFC’s Double Down Sandwich
Seriously, people, what do we think of this? And I don’t buy for a second KFC’s claim that this thing is only 590 calories (ONLY!).
RIP, Ted
Ted Kennedy, dead at 77. “βHe was the survivor…He was not a shining star that burned brightly and faded away. He had a long, steady glow. When you survey the impact of the Kennedys on American life and politics and policy, he will end up by far being the most significant.β (Norman J. Ornstein)
