Cooking with a Friend
Appearing over at Serious Eats, Reducing Food Costs: Cooking with a Friend is a really neat idea. Lisa and I have done this on occasion, but not to this extent. Now that spring is on its way, I am looking forward to taking more advantage of our local farmer’s market. (Our farm share price went up dramatically this year and I don’t know that we can justify the cost.) I would love to organize a regular gathering where a few of us get together and cook meals for the week. I’ll be following Jen’s progress as she continues her experiment. Your thoughts?
Trailer Park Boys
Boing Boing put together a bunch of clips from Canada’s great Trailer Park Boys. Maggie and Jeremy introduced us to this show a while back; we’re behind on our viewing but I hope to catch up soon. When I first saw Eastbound & Down, TPB was the first thing that popped into my head. warning: videos NSFW
Kate Bush
I mentioned this on Twitter the other day, but it bears repeating here. Rich at FourFour recently posted an entry about Kate Bush. It is chock full of animated gifs and it is glorious.

It’s Rudd O’Clock
I’m going to be at a meeting for most of the day, so go ahead and talk about whatever you want. In the meantime, click on the small Rudd for a larger Rudd.
Big Apple Circus
We went with a friend and her kids to the Big Apple Circus over the weekend. I was a bit concerned, as I don’t like animal acts and I also don’t like when people from shows try to engage me (see this Onion article). Which clowns are notorious for. Anyway, it turned out to be fun, and the kids loved it. There were only two horses and a dog act, and the dogs are all rescues and don’t do much except run around like dogs like to do anyway. So, I was fine with it. And the acrobats were remarkable. The geekboy spent a fortune buying the kids cotton candy and souvenirs, and he is now a hero. A couple of photos after the jump.
I Heart Irony
A man wearing an “I Heart My Marriage” t-shirt was arrested for — wait for it — trying to strangle his wife. Oh, dear. via boing boing
