Top 10 Worst Movie Edits For TV
I would also add The Breakfast Club to this list. And how could they leave out the edited version of Mallrats? It’s so awful (including different actors for the overdubs) that Kevin Smith used to sell a bootlegged version of it in his store.
Persepolis
Last night we watched Persepolis, a movie I’d been meaning to see, then forgot about until it popped up on cable. It was lovely. The animation was wonderful, the story was poignant, and featured perhaps the best use of Eye of the Tiger in recent cinematic history. I learned quite a bit while watching it, and realized sadly that I don’t know a lot about world events. Trailer after the jump.
Interview Meme
Here are the interviews I did from Friday’s post — Meet Lee, Oddrey and Marjon.
Dead Birds Falling from the Sky
Sounds like sci-fi, doesn’t it? But it’s not, and it happened, where we live. Imagine finding hundreds of mysteriously dead birds in your yard and being told that you have to clean them all up. No dead birds in our yard, but the whole thing is quite unsettling. You can’t just poison hundreds or thousands of birds and neglect to inform the residents of the town. We haven’t even been told where the birds were poisoned. Who knows if any stray cats or raccoons got into the poison as well? And what are the ripple effects of reducing the starling population? I’m just so creeped out.
Weekend Wrapup
How was your weekend? Ours was quiet compared to the chaos of last weekend, but I still enjoyed myself.
