Dark Was The Night
Dark Was The Night will be released on February 17th, 2009. It’s comprised of 31 exclusive tracks and it will be available as a double cd/triple vinyl/download and will benefit the Red Hot Organization – an international charity dedicated to raising money and awareness for HIV and AIDS through popular culture.
Here’s a cool little widget with a couple tracks from the album. The Sufjan Stevens track is, in a word, epic.
Weekend Plans
Doing anything fun this weekend? Tonight we’re going to a local comedy club to see Craig Robinson, aka Darryl from The Office. I’m looking forward to it — I’ve read that his stand up is pretty free-form and improvisational. Before the show, we plan to drink Guinness and eat meat.
This weekend is the SuperBowl, too. We’re not big sports fans here at FreakGeek Estates, but we usually put the game on and have a few beers anyway. Plus, afterward is a special episode of The Office!

Puff Pastry Recipes?
I’m having some family over on Saturday and want to make a simple dessert. I have puff pastry sheets in the freezer — anyone have any good recipes they’d like to share? Thanks.
Future Technology That Never Was
Check out the geekboy’s post about technology we were promised that never happened. I’d like one of those helicopters!
The Worst Springsteen Song Ever Written
Critics are not loving a certain track from Bruce Springsteen’s newest effort, and their comments border on hilarity. I heard a few cuts from the album on the radio the other night, and while I like “Working on a Dream,” I wasn’t much impressed with the rest. Ah well.
