Looks like we’ve hit the dog days of summer here at freakgirl dot com. I’m not finding many interesting things to post about, people are on vacation, energy levels are low. I figure things will pick up eventually. I’ve been spending most of my time writing my articles for HSW and trying to find other supplemental gigs. The geekboy and I are going to Florida in a few weeks to visit our families and hang with the kids. See? Nothing really interesting to report. Oh, last night I made fried okra for the first time, and spent the rest of the evening kicking myself for waiting so long to try it. Snacky crispy deliciousness!

Are we going to talk about the fact that Katie Holmes has started pegging her jeans? I used to roll a tight peg back in the day, but I DON’T THINK SO. My guess is that she bet Victoria Beckham she could bring them back.
