Yesterday afternoon, when I came home from the doctor, I entered the house and my nose immediately detected the unmistakable smell of cat pee. It is nearly 24 hours later and we still haven’t located the source. We’re pretty sure it’s either in the dining room or in the kitchen, but we CAN’T FIND IT AND IT’S MAKING ME CRAZY.

Maybe I’m cranky from being sick, maybe I’m totally off the mark, but hear me out. I just ran across this product, which is a women’s compact with a “secret compartment” for carrying condoms. I get the spirit behind it — keep yourself protected, safe sex, la la la — but why are we hiding the condoms? Why isn’t it okay to have a condom in your purse? Why keep them in a “secret and discreet” compartment? Is carrying a condom shameful or embarrassing? Isn’t it that shame that prevents a lot of women from carrying their own condoms in the first place? What’s so shameful about having a condom in your purse? Am I being ridiculous and petty?
