Weekend Plans
It’s been a great week or so, what with the REM and Pearl Jam shows. It’s not over yet — tonight is Eddie Izzard at Radio City Music Hall. Then next week? The Feelies reunion at Maxwell’s, a show that sold out in about an hour. It’s the summer of nostalgia. And then next Thursday, we leave for Canada!
Random Observations from the Car Dealerships
Most people have the stupidest ringtones. Seriously, lady, the theme from the Lone Ranger? And someone here smells like onions. And the wi-fi connection is kind of slow. And the woman who comes to fetch you once your car is finished is WAY too exuberant for a) this job and b) this early in the morning.
Earbud Help
I’m sitting here at the Toyota dealership, getting my car serviced in preparation for our trip to Canada next week. WOOT! I’ve got my cheap Sony earbuds in, listening to Stern, and I am realizing that they are SO EFFING UNCOMFORTABLE. Consider this a call for recommendations. I’d like a nice, small, comfortable and relatively cheap set of earbuds. Buds I can wear for a long time (like an airline flight) that won’t make my ears start to ACHE fifteen minutes in.
Pearl Jam
The Pearl Jam show was much fun. Although now I am spoiled and from today forward I will refuse to attend a show at MSG unless it’s in a luxury box. Free dinner, free booze, and a private bathroom. Even our own t-shirt vendor. I loved it. Although we were up quite high, we were center stage and could really feel the energy of the crowd. In fact, at some points we could feel it so much that we thought the stadium might implode.
